Oh Goodness offers a range of effective natural deodorants and simple, fuss free skincare. Crafted from ethical plant based ingredients and packaged sustainably in glass and metal, all products are made by hand in small batches to ensure freshness and quality.

Owner Ana Henderson began making natural deodorant in her kitchen in Lyall Bay, Wellington to give as presents to friends and family. When everybody raved about it and asked for more, the idea for a business took hold. A move to a bigger house with a dedicated space for a workshop meant the idea could become reality. As her interest in natural skincare grew, Ana began to delve more deeply into natural skincare and developed a small range of skincare to accompany the deodorants, once more packaged in glass and metal.

Dismayed by the ever increasing amounts of plastic pollution in the environment, and armed with a great product, Ana launched Oh Goodness in late 2018. With a focus on environmental responsibility, Oh Goodness contributes to

Sustainable Coastlines, via the One Percent Collective, and the Ocean Cleanup project, both targeting plastic pollution in our waterways. 

All ingredients used are natural, recognisable plant based organic ingredients. The Oh Goodness ethos ensures all ingredients are sourced from good quality, ethically run natural skincare suppliers with organic certifications. All the oils and butters used are fair trade and cold-pressed, ensuring as many vital nutrients are preserved as possible. While the oil based products are preservative free, the water based hand & body cream contains a safe, non toxic,

Ecocert approved preservative to combat bacterial growth.

The current range includes an intense facial moisturiser, hand & body cream and a healing salve, made from calendula infused olive oil. The deodorants are available in five great fragrances and sensitive versions (without baking soda) are available in three.

DEODORANT CREAMS:
Oh Goodness deodorants are cream based. Unfamiliar? We get it, they are a little different to a conventional roll on, stick or spray. Rest assured, once you get the hang of it they are easy to use, and just as effective as a regular deodorant.

So will it stop me from sweating? As sweat is a natural detoxification path from the body, we don’t want to stop that happening. While cream based deodorant is super effective at freshening your underarm pong, it doesn’t stop sweat outright. An antiperspirant typically contains aluminium salts which block the sweat glands and prevent you sweating, thus minimizing odour. Oh Goodness cream deodorants are aluminium free, meaning they won’t stop you sweating, but the active ingredients work with your skin’s natural bacteria (it’s these guys who smell, not the sweat itself!) and ensure you stay fresh and odour free all day, even from just one application.

To use, simply take a small amount on the tip of a clean, dry finger (roughly the size of a pea) and massage into your armpit with the tip of your finger or fingers. Rub it in well, they work best if you treat them like a moisturiser and rub them in thoroughly. Oh Goodness deodorants go on dry, aren’t tacky and won’t mark your clothes.
