NEW LOOK PACKAGING - SAME GREAT PRODUCT

Our Moothpaste is our fabulous formulation that took us years to develop after talking with both dental practitioners and our customers. Many people felt that a toothpaste without Fluoride was being irresponsible as Fluoride is needed to assist remineralisation. However, others told us they would never use, or give their children toothpaste that contained Fluoride. Our aim was to provide the benefits of Fluoride to those that prefer not to use this ingredient.

Fluoride is added to most toothpastes as it assists in the remineralisation of teeth. Basically, when scratches and cracks appear in your teeth, Fluoride helps fill these cracks in before bacteria can cause tooth decay. Think of it like filling in a crack in your drywall. But what most people don’t know is that there’re alternatives to Fluoride with strong clinical evidence to do the same job as Fluoride. They just cost a little more and can be tricky to formulate with, but we did it and we think it is worth the few cents more per brush. So instead of Calcium Fluoride, we’re using Calcium Hydroxyapatite.

We love how dedicated our customers are to researching ingredients. We wish everyone looked at their toothpaste in such detail.

  • What ingredients do you avoid when making a toothpaste?

There's lots of things you won't find in this toothpaste (or any of our other products) because they were all formulated for family members and close friends. This includes Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, which is a synthetic detergent derived from petroleum, but is commonly found in commercial body washes, shampoos, and even toothpaste. We don’t think putting the stuff that goes into our cars in our mouths is the healthiest thing we can do.

We also don’t use any synthetic preservatives such as Parabens and Phenoxyethanol, although they're pretty common too, including with a few brands that claim to be natural (you know who you are!). There are many more but way too many to list here. Take a look at the ingredient listing on your toothpaste at home. You may be surprised, even shocked to see what you’ll find.

Why doesn’t your toothpaste foam as much as the other brands I’m used to?

For those new to natural toothpaste, you may find it a little different to the main commercial brands. Just like shampoo and wash products, toothpaste often contains Sodium Lauryl Sulphate. Natural cleansers don’t hold their foam as long as synthetic detergents like SLS, but we think they're superior and much better for you and the environment. Considering how much toothpaste we swallow, and children often swallowing it all, we think this small compromise is worth it. This just means a little bit more elbow grease needed to get the foam going, but all that brushing will actually leave you with cleaner teeth.

    What is Calcium Hydroxyapatite?

Embraced for its superior bioavailability, Calcium Hydroxyapatite enriches toothpaste formulations, promoting remineralisation and strengthening enamel. When looking to formulate a toothpaste with an alternative to Fluoride, the science behind this ingredient left us without doubt. With a track record in preventing cavities and enhancing overall dental resilience, Calcium Hydroxyapatite stands as a champion ingredient in toothpaste formulations.

Why doesn’t your toothpaste taste as minty as the other brands I’m used to?

Many people seem to be, dare we say addicted, to the strong, artificial minty flavour burst of commercial toothpastes. We trialed so many formulas to try to replicate this as best we could with natural ingredients, and we think we come pretty darn close.

Is your Hydroxyapatite Vegan and non-GMO?

Yes, our Moothpaste formula is Vegan and non-GMO.

Can Moothpaste be used on dentures?

Absolutely. Our formula is gentle enough for cleaning dentures, thanks to its mild cleansers and low-abrasive ingredients. However, Calcium Carbonate and Sodium Bicarb, which we use as mild abrasives, may cause tiny scratches on softer dentures over time. It's really up to you! If you're unsure, we always recommend using a denture-specific toothpaste with RDA testing for the best results. But overall, it's safe to use.

What’s different about this Moothpaste formula?

The only change we’ve made is to the packaging and a small upgrade in the formula’s active ingredient to better support your oral health. We’ve transitioned from standard Hydroxyapatite (HA) to Nano-Hydroxyapatite (NHA). Both forms of Hydroxyapatite work wonderfully to remineralise teeth, but NHA is a more advanced version due to its smaller particle size. This allows it to more easily adhere to the surface of your teeth and provide targeted remineralisation benefits.

    Here’s how it works:

For Enamel: NHA can penetrate tiny pores in your enamel, replacing dissolved phosphate and calcium ions. It forms a protective synthetic enamel layer that works like fluoride but through a different mechanism.
For Dentine: NHA can reach deeper into the demineralised collagen matrix in your teeth, acting as a scaffold for rebuilding dentine while providing a localised source of calcium.
It’s exciting to share that NHA has been extensively researched and shown to be highly effective at strengthening teeth and protecting them. We hope you enjoy the benefits of this enhanced Moothpaste formula!
